Is Lightening Good For Computers? I Don't Think So

Central New York is hazy, hot and humid today with pop up thunderstorms and gully washing rains. It's supposed to be like that for the next 5 days, with the storms happening anytime after 3pm every day.

I've had to work in the office the last two days and you know how much I just love that. Looking forward to getting home and of course we got hit right at 3pm. The girls who work in the field aren't allowed to use the back door closest to the parking lot, but the rains came down so hard I went and opened it and brought some of them in that way. Poor gals looked like drowned rats just coming from their cars the 15 or so feet to that door. We don't really care about the use of that door, it's just that sometimes the girls snoop in the back offices. That's not welcome, and we couldn't stop it until we refused them admittance that way.

I am looking at sky that looks very much like the pic, and it's getting dark in here so I think I'm going to shut down. Have a great night.

 I Don't Know, I Care, But I Don't Know

Awhile back a blogger here did a post about responsibility. How hard it is to accept it without excuse. It's a lot harder than you would think.

There is a part of me that wants to believe in the good in mankind, and a part of me that doesn't believe it. I only know what is in my heart, and I only know I've done wrong. Somehow the two, what is in my heart and what I did, don't match. How does that happen? I don't know.

I don't know where the anger came from, I don't know why it was so overwhelming to me. I know what I did, how do I go past it as if nothing has happened?

I can't change what others think, and I don't want to have anything else I say used to hurt others. In 57 years of friendship with people in the real world, no one has ever accused me of speaking with a forked tongue. I have had the same friends for years, and yes, we hurt each other periodically, but we know each others hearts. Here online, we can't know each other's hearts, we can only hope we do.

There is another situation that I am aware of that has nothing to do with what happened over the weekend. It involves a violent picture and the deactivation of someone else. That person has reactivated her blog and I am not involved in any way except that I knew some of what was going on, and offered a hand in friendship to that lady. My comments this week regarding people you can't trust have to do with what happened to her.

 Haiku For The Computer

While surfing around the internet yesterday I wiped out at this site that had a lot of humourous stuff on it and some other things. I don't know if this is the truth or not, you really can't tell all the time.

The first paragraph stated that the Japanese had replaced their error messages on their computers with Haiku. They might have, but I've never been to Japan so I can't attest to the veracity of these, but they are interesting and they give voice to all of the computer woes we have in a very interesting manner.

Haiku

The Web site you seek
Cannot be located.
Countless more exist.

Chaos reigns within.
Reflect, repent, and reboot.
Order shall return.

Program aborting.
Close all that you have worked on.
You ask far too much.

Windows NT crashed.
I am the Blue Screen of Death.
No one hears your screams.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it is not working.
Software is like that.

Your file was so big.
It might be very useful.
But now it is gone.

Stay the patient course.
Of little worth is your ire.
The network is down.

A crash reduces
your expensive computer
to a simple stone.

Three things are certain:
death, taxes and lost data.
Guess which has occurred?

 Just Standing Still

I got angry and defended a friend. Doing so caused serious pain to others. At this point, I don't know what the right path to take is, so I'm just going to stand still and BREATHE.

 I Am Still Me

Due to the fact that I answered some comments on Sunday Morning from my mailbox, they were answered in the order I opened them. I read and answered PolarB's comment before I read Scratch's comment that he was not deactivating. There again, draw your own conclusions as to who I am and what I stand for. I stopped my fight when I read his comment. Unfortunately it was too late.

I believe what I believe, and if you don't stand up for what you believe in, you might just as well lie down and die. I am sorry for the hurt that was caused, but if you choose to believe the worst of me after 16 months of "friendship" than you may do so. I'm done with it. Top to bottom, I am against the lists, I am against the notion of popularity. I believe we should pick and choose our friends, not have them chosen for us.

I have never set out to intentionally hurt anyone, and I resent the implication that I did.
