For every four or five times you aren't happy with the customer service a business provides for you, there's one outstanding example of what it should be like and too often isn't. It would be far better if we could say that we had a problem and customer service came to our rescue every time, but we can't. When you do find someone who makes the extra effort in this day and age, we should definitely share our satisfaction with others.

I wasn't going to post today, but I came online a bit ago to find I had a comment from Widgetbox.com. To be specific the comment was from the VP of Marketing at Widgetbox, she said:

"We are so sorry you are had problems with the aquarium clock on Widgetbox this weekend. It was a great clock which is why we were featuring it on our home page.

Widgetbox is lucky to have such fantastic developers developing widgets on our site. Sometimes, we find developers are OK having their widget content used by other developers in “mash-ups”. Sometimes, developers prefer that their widget content remain proprietary or that they are first asked if it can be used in a mash-up.

Zanyzora has the prerogative to make that decision and at Widgetbox, we support the developers right to make decisions they think are best for them. Zanyzora asked us to remove the aquarium clock from Widgetbox and we were about to do so. However, the clock developer graciously replaced the widget content himself. We do our best to respond to our developers requests as quickly as possible and apologize that it was not fast enough and affected your Saturday post.

Now, I'm just a little nobody blogger in a place called Blogstream. I don't pay for the use of their service, yet they care enough about their reputation to come here and leave a comment explaining the problem. Now that's customer service. No, that's outstanding customer service.

That'll teach him to go sticking his nose in Blogstream looking for Clam Dip.
